HOW TO ACHIEVE OPTIMAL FITNESS

Optimal fitness “is the condition resulting in a lifestyle that leads to the development of an optimal level of cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, and flexibility, as well as, the achievement and maintenance of ideal body weight.”

I personally feel that having a sensible, exercise regimen and nutritional plan is a very important for maintaining optimal health. Doing regular workouts can help our cardiovascular health greatly and can have a positive impact on our body and mind. In fact, regular exercise is one of the most effective treatments for mild to moderate depression. It can also improve our sleep, reduce stress, help with weight management, enhance energy and endurance.

Other ways to improve our fitness:

walk to work

Take the stairs (not the lift)

Move your body

Here are two examples of how to plan:

Example 1: I have chosen do Martial Art Inspired Workouts and weight lifting. I will workout 4 times a week, in the comfort of my own home, I have chosen to sign up to the Les Mills On Demand membership and will start next Monday. I have written in my planner when I will do my workouts so that I know exactly when to do them. They are 30 to 40 minute workouts.

Example 2: I have chosen to cycle nearby where I live 2x weekly nearby and do yoga at home 2x weekly using the Yoga For Beginners app. I will start on Monday aiming for 40-60 mins per workout activity.
