5 WAYS HOW EXERCISE CAN IMPROVE YOUR CONFIDENCE

Have you ever avoided going out to socialise with people because you've lacked so much confidence in the way that you look and feel? I know I have. And it was only until I reached my ideal weight, after spending time exercising and eating healthily on a regular basis, that I began to realise that I could achieve so much more. It had completely changed my mindset!

I know deep down how hard it is to gain confidence, it does require a lot of stepping out of your comfort zone, which is what I've been doing over 3 years. So how do you get started? Starting to exercise can help boost our confidence greatly, so definitely start here! It all begins with a choice, self determination and maybe motivation from others!

You can do this! I believe in you!

How Do We Get Started?

Here are a few ideas on how to get started, choose whichever one excites you the most, I personally started with the online streaming classes and also went to Jiu Jitsu and women self defense classes:

  • Go to the gym or fitness classes - there is so much choice.

  • Join a martial arts / Jiu Jitsu academy

  • Workout from home using online virtual classes, DVDs or even YouTube videos if you're short if cash.

  • Pursue a sport that you enjoy: football, dancing, running, cycling, etc.

  • Go out walking with family and friends (yes, this is a form or exercise).

Whatever you decide to do, just make sure you're moving and burning calories and you are surrounded by people who can support you in your fitness journey! You will want to be burning more calories than you are eating. A healthy eating plan alongside exercise will transform your body and mind completely. You will feel like a completely different person!

Here Are 5 Ways How Exercising Improves Your Confidence

  1. Gets you into shape / You reach your goal weight: I know from personal experience how it feels to reach your ideal weight, it is a huge confidence booster and even more so when you get into shape with a well toned body and improved posture. You will find that you will be able to talk to people much more easily, you will feel confident in the clothes that you wear because you will no longer have any those bulges that we all dislike but instead a lean, beautiful body that people admire.

  2. Changes the way you feel: Exercise helps improve the way that you feel emotionally because it stimulates brain chemicals such as dopamine and serotonin and helps to regulate stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline which promotes a feeling of wellness. "According to the American Psychological Association (APA), there's usually an instant mood-enhancing effect about five minutes after you start a sweat sesh. And while that flood of feel-good endorphins feels absolutely incredible, it's important to realize that including exercise in your day-to-day routine has long-lasting effects on your mental health, as well." - EliteDaily.Com

  3. You have more energy: When you exercise, eat healthily and incorporate a wellness lifestyle, you will find you will have more energy because your body is stronger, your mind is more active and you will feel more positive as a whole. You begin to incorporate other healthy options into your lifestyle, such as essential oils and high antioxidant drinks.

  4. You have better sleep: You will find that you sleep better when you exercise on a regular basis which in turn will help with your confidence because you will be waking up alert, happy and without those hideous dark circles around your eyes. I mean, who wants those?!

  5. Makes you stronger: Your confidence will soar when you can see what your body is capable of doing. When you set specific goals for exercise and you meet those goals, you will see what is possible when you put the effort in. You are far more stronger than you think. Your mindset will become stronger because of this. You will grow stronger, each day that you workout. When you're able to lift heavier weights, and achieve harder exercises with less effort, you will start getting a feeling that you can do anything!
